The Certified Student Leader program at West Virginia University is a co-curricular certification opportunity available to all students interested in enhancing their leadership skills, knowledge, and applications by participation in a variety of leadership and service offerings at the university. The program is self-paced and students may join at any point during their collegiate career. Workshops are sponsored by Student Engagement and Leadership in collaboration with many campus departments to provide a diverse array of opportunities for students to develop leadership experience. Students who complete the program and are in good academic standing will receive a certificate of completion.
Certified Student Leader Program Requirements:
- Take CliftonStrengths Finder assessment
- 12 leadership training workshops

1 Leadership Course
offered by WVU or hold WVU student organization leadership role
- 40 hours of community service
- 4 multicultural programs
- 2 career programs
